Commercial Solar – Getting Started
Many businesses believe that installing a solar system is a dauntingly complex process that requires a large commitment of man hours from the company considering solar. The truth is that with little input, Baker Electric can provide the information necessary to analyze the feasibility of solar for your facility.
The system is, in simplistic terms, comprised of solar modules that capture the sun’s power (irradiance), creating DC power. This DC power is fed to an inverter, which converts the power to AC power. This AC power is fed into the existing utility meter. The utility company tracks how much energy is produced vs. how much energy is used. Credits are created, which offset the energy bill from the utility. This process is called Net Metering.
