Why is solar “green” or eco-friendly?

Most homes in Southern California are powered by fossil fuels. The
company to which you pay your utility bill generates or buys its electricity
from a company that burns coal, natural gas, or petroleum to create it, which
does a number of types of damage to the Earth. A home that has enough solar panels to cover all or part of its electricity needs will help to offset their carbon footprint and become part of the solution.

Why Baker Electric Solar?

Baker Electric Solar has been doing electrical installation in the region since 1938 and our experience makes our professional technicians the best in the business. Our partnerships with top solar panel manufacturers and suppliers, including SunPower, mean we get the best technology and can pass incredible deals on to customers. Our reputation is everything, so we’re going to stand by our product and services no matter what. And we’re a part of this community, so you know you are contributing to creating a stronger community by supporting local business.

What does photovoltaic mean?

There are a few different types of solar panel technology and they differ in how they turn sunlight into energy. Photovoltaic simply means that they all take that sunlight broken down into packets called “photons,” and turn it into energy, volts.

Is the installation affordable?

Baker Electric Solar offers leasing, financing and upfront payment options. The price of the investment is very reasonable relative to the benefits our solar systems generate, and it varies depending on the size of solar system you need. If you decide to finance or lease a solar system, you can start creating savings right away with a lower monthly payment for solar than you pay now for your electric bill. If you decide to outright purchase a system, the right system will pay for itself in just a few years. How’s that for affordable?

Will it really decrease my energy costs?

100% – Absolutely yes. We start by evaluating your energy needs and energy-saving goals so that we can use this information when we design your system. The solar energy systems that we install typically meet at least 70-100% of the customer’s energy needs depending on what size system they choose, meaning they cut their energy utility bill by that much each month as well.

How will the solar panels look?

Solar panels do need to be installed in the right spot to maximize sunlight and effectiveness. Some panels are designed specifically with aesthetics in mind. SunPower panels are sleek and our designers are great at integrating them into the design of the home. This website contains several examples of how visually appealing our systems are. How much work is the maintenance?

Solar panels only require the occasional hosing down in most situations. They’re durable and long-lasting. No moving parts, so little-to-no ongoing maintenance is required.

What do I have to do to get ready for installation?

Our installation is relatively painless and simple. We’ll walk you through every step before moving on. If your installation date is coming up and you have questions, please contact us. Once the installation begins, we’ll be in and out quickly, usually within 1-3 days depending on the size of the project.

Will I get to approve designs before you start?

Of course. Your input is vital to this process so that you are completely satisfied with the outcome. Whether we’re doing a commercial or residential solar system installation, we provide you with a copy of the plans and explain the design to you to get your approval before moving forward.
